How It All Began

Where to start, I guess the beginning is always the best. It all began on a mountain peak in the middle of the Taman Negara Jungle. We had trekked for three hours or so, to a small lookout area. Standing there, with my small insignificant Nikon APS, the guy next to me pulled out what can only be described, by a mere mortal, as a beast. Well one thing led to another, as you can imagine, by the end of which I had been persuaded; I needed a better camera. The fact that I couldn't zoom in or out, or frame effectively had been getting to me.

So at our next stop, I decided it was time to invest, and where better than Singapore? So off I went and, maybe a little rashly, bought the fabulous Nikon D70. And so began my unhealthy craving for that, always sought after and always elusive, perfect shot. Oh sure, there are some that I think are amazing, but photography is so subjective and what I consider to be a master piece others will probably consider dull or boring, or 'so' done before!

Having wandered around with no real idea as to what I was doing or how I was supposed to do it, I decided it was high time that I did an evening course to learn what all the damn buttons really did!

Many nights and quite a lot of experimenting later, I now have a vague idea of what I'm doing. I just hope that you think so too.

As you travel through life,

Kill nothing but Time,

Leave nothing but Footprints,

Take nothing but Pictures.
